Preparing for your Bonni

Though it may be possible to build a Bonni on an existing concrete base, we like to construct our outbuildings in a way that avoids concrete entirely, putting the outbuilding on small stilts. This is a friendlier approach for your garden’s eco system, allowing rainwater to run off into the soil.

In a drive to be as kind to the environment as possible, and to ensure your Bonni has the best start in life, we include the installation of your base.  With good solid roots your Bonni will stand the test the of time.

We will advise you on where the best place for your Bonni is so that it complements the garden – and for smaller spaces, doesn’t dominate. A site assessment can be carried out before you decide on your Bonni to work out the very best option for you. You may need to clear the area to ensure it is accessible.

You will need to arrange for the supply of power to the site and for any kind of planning permission that is required. All electrical work and plumbing must comply with current building regulations. This is your responsibility (though we will support you all the way) and will need to be complete and ready for connection when your Bonni is ready to be delivered.

For your electrics your Bonni will come with a 32 amp connector which will need to be suitably connected to your mains supply by an approved electrican.

For your water heater we will fit a twin gas regulator which will require 2 47kg Propane gas bottles. We will provide a gas certificate on completion of your Bonni.

For your plumbing your Bonnis waste and water converges into a 110mm soil boss for you to connect to your chosen waste source. You will be responsible for ensuring that the waste is connected to the mains sewer, septic tank, or eco loo of your choice. For your water connection you will have a 22mm copper pipe located under your Bonni and directly below the kitchen sink ready for your plumber to connect. We will supply you with an MDPE pipe for ease.

Once you have all this in place, the rest is down to us…
