Terms and Conditions

We have tried to keep our terms and conditions as simple and as short as possible, not too technical and with the legal bit easy to understand…

We provide care guides with our Bonnis that advise you on how best to look after them. We’re therefore not liable for any faults that may arise with your Bonni that have resulted from not following these guides.

Bonnioutbuildings.com is part of Bonni Outbuildings Ltd.  Our offices are at Bonni Outbuildings, Hill Bottom, Oxfordshire RG8 7PU. You can contact us in writing, by email (info@bonnioutbuildings.com) or by phone (+44 1865 745309) should you have any queries.

It’s important to say that we’re not liable for any indirect losses, such as losses of revenue or profits, which are not reasonably foreseeable when you place your order (except for personal injury or fraud). This also includes any losses caused by us not being able to meet our obligations because of things outside our control.

These terms fall under English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts.

About the design

Our Bonni’s are made from natural materials wherever we can. Changes in colour, texture and wood grain, as well as slubs in fabrics, are just a lovely characteristic of this.

When it comes to paint in particular, colours are likely to change over time as they respond to sunlight exposure and moisture content in the air. Because the paint we use is produced using natural pigments and materials, there can be some colour variance across different batches too. When more than one tin of the same colour is to be used, we recommend that the tins are mixed together beforehand. And when redecorating a previously painted area, we advise completely repainting rather than ‘spot’ repairing for the most consistent finish.

We always try our best to make sure that the descriptions, images and prices on our website and in our literature are accurate. Sometimes we can’t control this (for instance, computer monitors can affect colour), but if you spot something that you think is amiss, let us know and we’ll try to solve it as soon as possible.

Your order

When you’re placing your order for your Bonni we’ll ask for a £1000 (non-refundable) deposit to secure your price and installation date. 8 weeks prior to delivery and installation you will be asked to pay a 50% deposit for the final amount. The final payment of the outstanding balance is due strictly on or before the final day of installation.

If you need to change the day your Bonni will be delivered and installed that’s absolutely fine, but if this is done more than once within eight weeks of the delivery date then we’ll need to charge you to cover the cost of storage, as it’s likely your Bonni will have already been made by this point. Also, if, at your request, the installation date falls more than 90 days after you placed your order, we’ll change the cost of your order to reflect our current prices.

If we’re creating a bespoke piece for you, we’ll ask for the full amount when you place your order, no matter the lead time.

It may be that there are a few pieces that we’ll need to design together, so we can get them spot-on for your space and organise professional fitting. For these, we’ll create a quote before you place your order. This will be valid for 28 days.

Ordering your Bonni

We know you’re very excited about your new Bonni, but there are a few bits of paperwork that we’ll need to make sure you’ve signed first. This includes a copy of these terms, as well as any separate terms for installation and your Bonni Bits, plus the plan and quote that we’ll have put together for you. Just make doubly sure you’re happy with your plan and quote, because once you’ve signed them off, you won’t be able to ask for any more changes without additional costs applying.

Delivery

We know life is busy and there may be some preparation for you to do before the delivery of your Bonni so we’ll get in touch beforehand to arrange a date and time that works for you. We offer a free delivery and installation service within a 50 mile radius of Bonni Headquarters in Oxfordshire. For a delivery further afield the cost will be calculated accordingly.

Please make sure of your Bonnis location. Whether you have opted for a site visit or not, it will be your responsibly to prepare the site and accessibility. We can help with any questions you may have.

While we’ll always do our very best to make sure your order is delivered on the day we say it will be, very rarely unforeseen delays can happen. It goes without saying that we’ll reschedule as soon as possible.

Cancellations and Returns

Because of the bespoke nature of your Bonni we are not able to take it back or offer a refund once it has been made and installed, unless it is faulty.

Of course, whether your Bonni or Bonni Bits are bespoke, made-to-order, fitted or not, if there are any faults, knocks or bumps that we’ve caused we will repair it, or sort out a replacement.  But in the (very) unlikely event that you see something not quite right, just let us know as soon as you spot the problem along with some photos if you can, and we’ll get it sorted.

Rest assured that your statutory rights are unaffected.

Our guarantees

Peace of mind is a lovely thing to have. Its why our Bonni’s come with a 5-year guarantee to protect against any compromises to the structural integrity of the building, including design and manufacturing faults. We doubt you’ll ever need them – we put a great deal of care, thought and attention into our design and build process – but they’re there just in case you ever do.

Due to the nature of our buildings, we cannot guarantee against fair wear and tear (like dents and scratches), accidental damage or anything that you’ve caused by neglecting your Bonni or not following our care guide, natural changes (like fading and cracking in timber, colour changes in metals, paints and fabrics), movement in timber such as expansion and contraction, surface rusting or tarnishing, pieces that you’ve installed, changed or repaired yourself such as kitchens and shower rooms, any Bonni installed on a base that does not meet our criteria or where a bonni has been relocated and if you move home and leave your Bonni behind, we’re not able to cover the new owners.

We can always help to repair any damage, there might just be a small fee – we’ll be able to tell you more when you get in touch with us

We are happy to assist with any additional work where we can and offer adjustment to doors and windows within the first 12 months. British Standard made kitchens, oak flooring and electrical items fall under the manufacturers own guarantee.  All other workmanship and materials are guaranteed for a period of 12 months and are subject to the building being maintained in line with our guidance. We’re sorry but our oak work surfaces don’t come with a guarantee.

Whether your guarantee is with us or one of our suppliers, we’ll help if something goes wrong. Just get in touch.

A note on timber

It’s natural for wood to move a little. You might notice that your doors, cupboard doors and panels shift slightly, and small cracks may appear. It’s just the timber adjusting to the temperature and humidity of your home. We can put doors back into place and touch up any small defects – just get in touch.

And finally…

If we can’t repair your fault, we’ll replace it.

Our Bonni design service

Our Bonni design service is where you’ll work with one of our designers on all the aspects of your Bonni, from windows, doors materials and paint colours to Bonni Bits, furniture, and curtains.

The only thing to mention is that there’s a non-refundable £500 design fee that you’ll need to pay before we can visit your home and start working on your plans. We offer this price within a 50-mile radius of Bonni Headquarters in Oxfordshire, for a visit further afield, the cost will be calculated accordingly.

Should you choose not to have a site visit, please make sure of your Bonnis location. It will be your responsibly to ensure the site is suitable, prepared, and accessible.

Our Furniture

If you order our bespoke sofas and chairs we guarantee the fabric for the first year (except for colour changes) and the frame for 5 years. Our tables fall under the manufacturers guarantee. Any unique or antique items we sell are sold as seen.

About our curtain panels

Our curtain panels are all made by hand, so a little variation is possible. The fabrics we use for our panels are made using natural materials like cotton, linen and wool, which can shrink a little in the moisture and heat of your Bonni. That’s completely normal though, and should only be by about 5%. If you think they’ve shrunk any more than that, just let us know and we’ll look into it. The sun can also be a bit of a problem and can make some fabrics fade (especially dark or bright colours).
